Key Responsibilities
The NetJets Pilot is responsible for delivering a superior air transportation experience, maintaining a continued safety record on every flight. The pilot acts as the face of NetJets, providing not only technically accurate and safe transportation but also an exceptional service experience. Primary duties include:
- Ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take-off, and landing for each flight, adhering strictly to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) Checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Greeting Owners and passengers pre-flight, facilitating introductions, briefing them on the specific flight details, verifying itineraries, providing weather updates and safety briefings, and explaining any itinerary changes.
- Providing necessary in-flight service, including the handling of alcohol and catering.
- Loading and properly stowing all baggage on the aircraft as needed.
- Handling and conducting flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke.
- Acting as the final authority on their assigned aircraft regarding all areas of operation, including compliance with applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
- Serving as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from the time of arrival at the FBO until safe landing at the final destination and departure from the final FBO.
- Properly communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to NetJets via the aircraft Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller on duty for their fleet.
- Completing all required paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Performing other duties as assigned based on specific assignment requirements.

Pilot Qualifications & Requirements
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), Restricted ATP, or ability to meet the requirements for FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with multi-engine rating in accordance with 14 CFR § 61.160.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Possession of one of the following total flight time experiences:
- 1,500 hours total flight time.
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification.
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours of cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
- 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- Completion of the ATP written exam prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
- 50 hours fixed-wing multi-engine time.
- Current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
- Possession of a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
- Ability to work varying hours, including day and night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated ability to be extremely flexible and adjust to rapid changes.
- Capability to manage personal rest effectively to be prepared for flight duty at all times during a tour.
- Understanding that duty periods may extend up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days and may span different time zones and extreme weather conditions during a trip.
- Willingness to be away from home for seven or more days and nights while on duty, requiring hotel stays.
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
- Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration required background screening.
- Possession of a valid State driver’s license.
- Ability to read, write, speak fluently, and understand the English language.
- Service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including strong capability to effectively interact with passengers.
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions while maintaining close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
- Physical capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Comfortable working around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
