The Role of a NetJets Pilot

Key Responsibilities
The Pilot is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience while maintaining a flawless safety record. This role is central to the NetJets promise, requiring not only technical proficiency and safe operation but also the delivery of an exceptional service experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi through landing, adhering strictly to FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, and NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Serving as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all operational, safety, and regulatory matters.
- Acting as a primary liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from their arrival at the FBO until departure from the final destination FBO.
- Greeting Owners/passengers, providing introductions, briefing them on flight specifics, verifying itineraries, delivering weather updates, conducting safety briefings, and explaining itinerary changes.
- Providing in-flight service, including the handling of alcohol and catering.
- Loading and properly stowing all baggage on the aircraft.
- Handling and conducting flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke.
- Communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the NetJets Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller.
- Completing all required paperwork associated with maintenance issues.
- Performing other duties as assigned, which may vary depending on the specific assignment.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Certifications and Licenses:
- Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or eligible to obtain prior to training.
- Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
- Flight Hour Requirements (ATP or R-ATP eligibility per FAA 61.160):
- At least 21 years of age.
- 1,500 hours total flight time, or 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or 1,000 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
- 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC).
- 100 hours of night flying (or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings).
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- Other Requirements:
- Must have a valid passport and be able to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
- Ability to work varying hours, including day and night shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be extremely flexible and adaptable to rapid changes.
- Ability to manage rest effectively to be prepared for flight duty at all times during a tour.
- Willingness to undertake duty periods potentially lasting up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days, spanning different time zones and weather conditions.
- Availability to be away from home for seven or more days and nights while on duty, staying in hotels.
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
- Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
- Possession of a valid State driver’s license.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, fluently speaking, and understanding the English language.
- Service-oriented with a professional appearance and the ability to make a positive impression and interact effectively with passengers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions with strong attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
- Physical capability to exert forces up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Ability to work around animals, including handling and care during flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Base Salary Range
$86,015 – $117,706
