Purpose of Position
The Pilot is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience, maintaining a continued safety record on every flight. Serving as the face of NetJets, the Pilot delivers technically accurate and safe transportation while also ensuring an exceptional service experience for Owners and passengers.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi through landing, adhering to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Greet Owners/passengers pre-flight, make introductions, brief them on the specific flight/trip, verify itinerary, provide weather updates and safety briefings, and explain any itinerary changes.
- Deliver in-flight service, including the handling of alcohol and serving catering, as needed.
- Load and properly stow all baggage on the aircraft as required.
- Handle and conduct flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke.
- Act as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all areas of operation, including compliance with applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
- Serve as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from their arrival at the FBO until safe landing at their final destination and departure from the final FBO.
- Properly communicate any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to NetJets via the aircraft Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller on duty for their fleet.
- Accurately complete all associated paperwork for maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Perform other duties as assigned depending on specific assignments.
Education
A High School Diploma is required.
Certifications and Licenses
- Completion of the FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) written exam is required prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
- A current FAA First Class Medical Certificate is required.
- A valid FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit is required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
- Hold an FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP), or meet the requirements for FAA ATP or Restricted ATP certificate with multi-engine rating as specified by FAA regulations (IAW 61.160):
- At least 21 years of age.
- Minimum 1,500 hours total flight time experience, OR
- Minimum 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate, OR
- Minimum 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, OR
- Minimum 1,000 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- Minimum 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
- Minimum 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
- Minimum 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings.
- Minimum 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- Minimum 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- Hold a valid passport and be able to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Possess authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
- Ability to work varying hours including day and night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be extremely flexible and demonstrate the ability to adjust to rapid changes.
- Must be able to manage personal rest to be prepared for flight duty at all times during their tour.
- Duty periods may last up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days and may span different time zones and extreme weather differences in the course of a trip.
- While on duty, may be away from home for seven or more days and nights, requiring hotel stays.
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
- Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
- Possess a valid State driver’s license.
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including a strong capability to effectively interact with passengers.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure.
- Demonstrate the ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to work around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
Base Salary Range
The competitive base salary range for this position is $86,015 – $117,706.
