Purpose of Position
The Pilot is responsible for ensuring a superior air transportation experience, maintaining an exceptional safety record on every flight. As a NetJets ambassador, the Pilot provides not only safe and efficient transportation but also delivers an unparalleled service experience for all NetJets Owners and passengers.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Flight Operations: Safely operate the aircraft throughout the flight, adhering to FAA guidelines, OEM Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Passenger Interaction: Provide pre-flight greetings and introductions, brief Owners/passengers on flight details, verify itineraries, provide weather updates, and deliver comprehensive safety briefings.
- In-Flight Service: Provide in-flight service as needed, including handling of alcohol and catering service.
- Baggage Handling: Load and stow baggage appropriately.
- Pet and Smoking Accommodation: Handle flights with pets and accommodate Owners who smoke.
- Aircraft Authority: Act as the final authority on all aspects of aircraft operation, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidance.
- Liaison Role: Serve as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets, ensuring a seamless travel experience from arrival at the FBO to departure at the final destination.
- Maintenance Reporting: Communicate any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to NetJets through the MCC Controller on duty.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork related to maintenance issues.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned, subject to the specific role's responsibilities.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications and Licenses
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- First Class Medical Certificate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs)
- FAA ATP, Restricted ATP, or meet requirements for FAA ATP or Restricted ATP with multi-engine rating.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Minimum Flight Time Experience:
- 1,500 hours total flight time.
- 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification.
- 1,000 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
- 250 hours fixed-wing PIC.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time.
- ATP written completed prior to start of Indoctrination Training.
- 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- Current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Valid passport for international travel without restrictions.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel internationally without restriction.
- Ability to work varying hours, including day and night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Exceptional flexibility and ability to adjust to rapid changes.
- Ability to manage personal rest to ensure readiness for flight duty at all times during their tour.
- Capability to work long hours, potentially exceeding 14 hours per day for up to eight days, spanning different time zones and weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel away from home for extended periods, staying in hotels.
- Ability to obtain necessary airport authority and US Customs security badges.
- Must pass Transportation Security Administration required background screening.
- Valid State driver's license.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with passengers.
- Excellent communication skills, especially under pressure.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions with attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
- Ability to work around animals, including handling and care before, during, and after flights.
- Ability to accommodate Owners who smoke.
Base Salary Range
$69,932 - $95,696
