Pilot in Command – Praetor 600 – Washington, DC (KIAD)
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a leader in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Part 91 operation based at Washington, DC (KIAD). This two-pilot account, supported by a Maintenance Technician, offers a predictable schedule with approximately 25% international travel.
Purpose of the Position:
The PIC is ultimately responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the Praetor 600 aircraft. This role demands meticulous adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently providing an exceptional service experience to passengers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Manage crew assignments, ensuring compliance with all regulations;
- Complete thorough flight planning, including performance calculations and weight & balance;
- Utilize Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to mitigate operational risks;
- Adhere strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
- Act as the Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator (as defined by company policy);
- Conduct comprehensive pre-flight inspections, recording any discrepancies according to SOPs;
- Oversee aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen);
- Deliver comprehensive passenger briefings, catering to individual needs, including those with physical limitations;
- Utilize Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for effective communication during all flight phases.
Delivering Exceptional Customer Service:
- Provide superior service to owners and passengers, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM experience and effectively resolving service discrepancies.
- Collaborate with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to maintain consistent service excellence. Conflict resolution skills are essential.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintain all necessary regulatory and company-mandated training and recency requirements.
- Actively participate in the company Safety Management System (SMS) program, including reporting safety concerns or non-compliance issues through established channels.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience
- Prior corporate/business aviation experience preferred.
- FAA Type Rating for the applicable aircraft fleet.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
