Executive Jet Management (EJM), a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977 and a subsidiary of NetJets, part of the world’s largest private aviation infrastructure, seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Pilot in Command (PIC). The Pilot in Command is responsible for operating an Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft based in Miami, FL. This position operates under Part 135 regulations and involves a multiple pilot rotation, supported by a dedicated Cabin Attendant. While the aircraft is based in Miami, the crew members are homebased and are provided with the option to commute to the aircraft. Preference will be given to candidates holding an EMB 145 type rating and those residing near a major airport with various flight options. The role involves supporting an aircraft owner with a passion for aviation, with frequent destinations including NY, Miami, Teterboro, Aspen, and Scottsdale, alongside some international operations to the Caribbean and Canada.
The Pilot in Command is ultimately accountable for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This role requires strict adherence to all company policies and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an outstanding service experience to the aircraft owner and passengers.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensures the safe operation of flight, ensuring crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes flight planning, performance, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment as required.
- Utilizes Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including evaluating the maintenance status of the aircraft to ensure it is mission capable. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
- Completes passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation. Delivers the highest level of customer service and accommodates any special needs of passengers.
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Delivers an exceptional service experience, providing quality service to owners and passengers while identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations.
- Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide a consistent service experience to owners and passengers. Resolves conflict and challenges professionally.
- Maintains proficiency and compliance by upholding regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complies with the company SMS program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
Qualifications
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate required.
- 4-6 years of aviation experience.
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- FAA Type rating in the Embraer Legacy (EMB 145) is preferred.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
