Overview

Purpose of Position

The Regional Chief Pilot acts as the primary point of contact for pilots flying Part 91/135 operations. The Regional Chief Pilot manages pilots for an assigned region and plays a vital role in the attraction and engagement of pilots while also functioning as a point of contact for Owners on pilot-related matters. The Regional Chief Pilot reports to the Part 119 designated Chief Pilot. This is a non 14 CFR 119 position which offers the ability to serve as a flight crewmember on EJM managed aircraft on an as needed basis. This position does not require the ability to serve as a flight crew member. Candidates for this position must reside in the South Central region of the United States (TX, MO, CO, KS, NE)

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Functions as the primary point of contact for Pilots / crew members on questions, issues and opportunities associated with the safe operation of flight duties.
  • Ensures Pilots / crew members are compliant with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Engages with pilots on a regular basis with a focus on strong two-way communication, team collaboration, fitness for duty and strong cockpit relationship management. Engages in regular problem solving and collaboration to mitigate known or potential risks. Engagement requires on-site / face-to-face visits, in addition to other communication methods, with account / Pilots.
  • Collaborates with internal departments during account, aircraft and Pilot onboarding / offboarding processes. Includes but not limited to interviewing, training compliance/scheduling, aircraft conformity activities, termination, year-end reviews, promotions, and other related activities.
  • Partners with Owner Services, Sales, Human Resources, Safety, Fleet Maintenance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure account is always staffed and mission ready, to include training and flight currency.
  • Acts as a point of contact for aircraft owners on all pilot-related matters.
  • Supports Chief Pilot and Director of Operations in policy and procedure development, implementation, compliance, and other initiatives as assigned.
  • Engages with Pilots on aviation incidences or events. Ensures accurate reporting and timely follow-up
  • In collaboration with account Lead Pilot, routinely check in with new hire pilots for mentorship and assimilation during first year of employment.

Bachelor’s in Aviation

Pilot license (CPL or ATPL)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Aviation Management, or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • 10 years Flight Operations, Dispatch, Operational Control, or equivalent experience
  • Preference given to those with Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
  • Knowledgeable in FAA regulations governing Part 91, Part 135 and Part 119
  • Knowledgeable of IACO SARPS and International operations
  • Self-motivated, high achiever with ability to work effectively in a remote environment
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time
  • Preference given to those with experience in Part 135 operations
