Purpose of Position
Executive Jet Management seeks a qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Citation XLS aircraft based in Wheeling, Illinois (KPWK airport). This is a three-pilot account supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. The Pilot in Command bears final responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The PIC must comply with all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional service experience to clients.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of flight, delivering an exceptional service experience, and maintaining proficiency and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Completing flight planning, performance, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Utilizing Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Complying with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating with company personnel. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator per company policy.
- Completing all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying maintenance status, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Ensuring all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
- Completing passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation. Delivers the highest level of customer service and meets any special needs of passengers.
- Utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Providing quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience, and resolving service deviations.
- Collaborating with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide a consistent service experience to owners and passengers, resolving conflict and challenges appropriately.
- Maintaining regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complying with the company SMS program and reporting safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
Certifications and Licenses
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
- First Class Medical Certificate
Years of Experience
4-6 years of experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Base Salary Range
Based on Cabin Size:
Small/Mid/Supermid: $160,000 – $325,000
Large/Heavy/Premium: $160,000 – $425,000
