The Opportunity
EJM is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Homebased Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to join its Crew Services team. This pivotal role involves operating Challenger 300, Challenger 350, and Challenger 3500 aircraft, providing essential flight support to multiple Part 91 and Part 135 accounts. The PIC serves as the ultimate authority for the safe and efficient conduct of all assigned flights.
Position Details
- Role Type: Homebased Pilot-in-Command
- Aircraft: Challenger 300, Challenger 350, Challenger 3500
- Operations: Primarily supporting Part 91 and Part 135 flights
- Schedule: Pilots select five days off each month. Scheduled for 16 flying days per month with additional compensation for any extra days worked.
- Trip Profile: Trips vary in length and destinations, encompassing both domestic and international travel.
- Reporting: Reports directly to the Chief Pilot or designated representative.
Key Responsibilities
The Pilot-in-Command is responsible for a comprehensive range of duties ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance:
- Receiving and reviewing initial flight briefings from the Flight Center, ensuring crew readiness, confirming logistics (show time, FBOs, fuel, catering, transportation, special requests), and understanding operational procedures (noise abatement, security, airport limitations).
- Conducting thorough briefings for the Second-in-Command, assigning duties while retaining ultimate responsibility for task completion. Briefings include detailed information on weather, flight plan, performance, security, and passenger considerations.
- Preparing or supervising the preparation of detailed flight plans, considering all relevant factors including weather, terrain, aircraft performance, weight and balance, range, airport facilities, and navigational resources.
- Reviewing aircraft maintenance records to ensure airworthiness, current inspections, compliance with the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), and overall aircraft capability for the planned flight. Reporting any aircraft or system irregularities according to company procedures.
- Supervising or conducting comprehensive preflight inspections, verifying the structural and mechanical integrity of the aircraft and confirming all required documents and safety equipment are onboard and current.
- Monitoring all ground servicing procedures to ensure they are overseen by a crew member.
- Managing passenger needs, including coordinating support for individuals with special requirements and ensuring compliance with all security procedures, including identification checks.
- Delivering required passenger safety briefings in accordance with 14 CFR Part 91.519 or 14 CFR Part 135.117, as applicable.
- Obtaining, reviewing, and confirming the currency of company flight manifests with the Flight Center.
- Completing and submitting Anomaly Reports for any unusual occurrences related to the aircraft, ground services, catering, or passengers.
- Maintaining a current First Class Medical Certificate and providing a copy to Flight Operations Training monthly.
- Ensuring continual compliance with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and actively reporting any safety, security, or quality recommendations or observations.

Certifications and Licenses
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
Experience
A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant aviation experience is typically required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong prioritizing and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, high-level priorities effectively.
- Proven proactive decision-making capabilities.
- Availability to be on-call 24/7, utilizing a company-provided communication device.
- Ability to maintain a valid First Class Medical Certificate throughout employment.
- May be required to obtain a specific FAA Type Rating for the applicable Fleet type.
- Commitment to upholding exceptional service standards within a strict and evolving regulatory environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must meet and maintain all standards and regulations required by the FAA and other government entities for operating aircraft in the Part 91 and Part 135 environments.
