Lead Pilot in Command - Global 6000
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a subsidiary of NetJets, has been a leader in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977. Built on a foundation of safety, service, and integrity, EJM seeks a qualified Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Global 6000 aircraft based in Broomfield, CO. This position is part of a three-pilot team, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under both Part 91 and 135 regulations.
The Lead PIC serves as a peer leader within a designated flight department, emphasizing effective crew resource management, exceptional client service, and the completion of flight department administrative tasks. The Lead PIC will actively participate in the flying schedule, adhering to all PIC duties and expectations. Consistent communication with the EJM Regional Chief Pilot is essential, driving team engagement and fostering a collaborative environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Leads Flight Department Success: Manages client relationships, addressing current or potential issues and opportunities proactively. Collaborates with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all aircraft maintenance events and tasks. Completes duties related to aircraft ownership, such as invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew scheduling. Supports flight department crew members, motivates them to achieve goals, and represents the EJM brand professionally, reporting concerns to the Regional Chief Pilot. Manages flight department administration matters, including supplies, subscriptions, and crew schedules.
- Ensures Safe Operation of Flight: Ensures crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements. Completes flight planning, performance, and weight and balance tasks. Employs Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead briefings and mitigate operational risks. Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and acts as Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator. Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including maintenance status verification, and records discrepancies. Monitors and accomplishes aircraft ground servicing items. Delivers passenger briefings and provides exceptional customer service, accommodating special needs. Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for effective communication during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Delivers Exceptional Service Experience: Provides quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Investigates and resolves service deviations. Collaborates with crew members and EJM partners to provide consistent service. Resolves conflict and challenges professionally.
- Maintains Proficiency and Compliance: Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience. Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and reports safety or non-compliance concerns. Ensures all crewmembers remain qualified in their assigned roles. Ensures crewmembers comply with company policies and that appropriate audits are in place.
Certifications and Licenses:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs):
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Base Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $315,000 – $320,000.
