Lead Pilot in Command - Global 6000V
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Global 6000V aircraft based in Bradley, Connecticut (KBDL). As a subsidiary of NetJets, EJM leverages the world's largest private aviation infrastructure, providing unmatched resources and operational stability.
This position is part of a six-pilot account, supported by a Maintenance Technician and a Cabin Attendant, operating under Part 91 regulations. The Lead PIC will serve as a peer-leader to the designated flight department, focusing on effective crew resource management, client service, and the completion of essential administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
Leading Flight Department Success:
- Manage key client relationships, ensuring both client and EJM needs are met. Proactively communicate to address any issues or opportunities.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance events and regular tasks (e.g., database updates, audits, checklists).
- Fulfill responsibilities related to the aircraft owner/account (e.g., invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, crew schedules) according to established expectations.
- Provide guidance and support to flight department crew members, motivating them to achieve departmental goals while upholding the EJM brand. Report any concerns or issues to the Regional Chief Pilot.
- Manage flight department administrative matters, including, but not limited to, supplies (office and aircraft), subscriptions, and crew schedules, involving communication with crew members.
Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Ensure that crew assignments and trip itineraries comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Complete flight planning, performance, weight, and balance tasks for each assignment as needed.
- Utilize Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to conduct required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinate with company personnel as necessary. Act as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Complete all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying aircraft maintenance status, ensuring mission capability. Record any aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Monitor and ensure all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are completed in accordance with SOPs.
- Deliver passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulations, providing exceptional customer service and catering to any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).
- Employ Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate effectively and timely with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivering Exceptional Service:
- Provide high-quality service to aircraft owners and passengers while identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigate and resolve service deviations.
- Partner with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to deliver a consistent service experience to owners and passengers. Resolve conflicts and challenges professionally.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintain regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Comply with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and report any safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
- Ensure all crewmembers remain qualified to perform their assigned duties in accordance with regulations and company policy.
- Oversee adherence to company policies and implement appropriate audits.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
- FAA Type Rating in applicable fleet.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions associated with the position.
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours.
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours.
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours.
- PIC MEL: 500 hours.
- Instrument: 300 hours.
- Jet: 500 hours.

Base Salary Range:
$117,000 - $438,500
