The Opportunity
EJM, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a highly qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Global 6000V aircraft based in Bradley, CT (KBDL). This is a six-pilot account, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician and Cabin Attendant, operating under Part 91 regulations.
The PIC bears the ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This demanding role requires adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience.
Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command will:
Safety:
- Ensure crewing and trip assignments adhere to company and regulatory requirements.
- Diligently complete flight planning, performance, weight, and balance tasks for each flight.
- Employ the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinate with company personnel.
- Act as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, ensuring aircraft maintenance status and mission capability.
- Meticulously record all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Supervise and ensure proper execution of all aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen, etc.).
- Deliver comprehensive passenger briefings compliant with company policy and regulations.
- Provide the highest level of customer service, addressing any special needs of passengers.
- Utilize Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel.
Service:
- Provide exceptional service to aircraft owners and passengers.
- Proactively identify and act upon opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
- Regularly investigate and resolve service deviations.
- Collaborate with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent and positive service experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in conflict resolution and address challenges effectively.
Professionalism:
- Maintain all regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Comply with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program.
- Demonstrate unwavering commitment to safety by promptly reporting any safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet.
- Extensive international and global vision experience is required.
- Must reside within a two-hour drive of Bradley International Airport (BDL).
- Flexibility to accommodate frequent schedule changes is essential.
Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2,000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Compensation and Benefits
EJM offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $432,000 commensurate with experience.
