Position Summary

The Pilot acts as the face of NetJets, ensuring superior air transportation with a focus on safety and exceptional service. Serving as the final authority on the aircraft, the Pilot manages all flight operations while providing a concierge-level experience for Owners and passengers. This role requires a professional demeanor, technical precision, and the ability to fulfill diverse responsibilities ranging from expert aviator to in-flight service provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe operation of aircraft during taxi, take-off, and landing in accordance with FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
  • Manage in-flight services, including catering and the handling of alcohol.
  • Perform pre-flight passenger briefings, itinerary verification, weather updates, and safety procedures.
  • Assist with the loading and stowage of passenger baggage.
  • Facilitate flights for passengers with pets and those who smoke.
  • Act as the primary liaison for Owners and passengers from FBO arrival through final destination.
  • Communicate maintenance abnormalities to the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) and complete required documentation.

Candidate Requirements

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification completed prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
  • Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
  • Valid U.S. Passport and State Driver’s License.
  • Must have authorization to work and travel internationally without restriction.
  • Ability to secure necessary airport authority and U.S. Customs security badges.
  • Must pass all required Transportation Security Administration background screenings.

Flight Experience Criteria (Per 61.160)

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of 1,500 hours total flight time (or 1,250 hours with university R-ATP; or 1,000 hours with military qualification/university R-ATP).
  • 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
  • 50 hours fixed-wing multi-engine time.
  • 200 hours cross-country flight time (>50 nm).
  • 100 hours of night flying (or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings).
  • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight).

Core Competencies and Physical Requirements

  • Demonstrated skills in adaptability, collaboration, service-orientation, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure.
  • Capacity to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Must be comfortable working around animals.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, well-groomed, professional appearance.

Operational Expectations

This position requires extreme flexibility regarding scheduling, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Pilots must be capable of managing rest to remain prepared for duty. Tours may last up to 14 hours per day for up to eight days, often requiring overnight stays and travel across time zones.
