Position Overview

NetJets, the global leader in private aviation, seeks a highly skilled and safety-conscious Pilot (First Officer) for the West Region. This role is pivotal in providing an unparalleled private travel experience, characterized by unwavering safety, personalized service, and global accessibility. The Pilot is the embodiment of the NetJets brand, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of flight operations and passenger service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi to landing, adhering to all FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
  • Provide a superior air transportation experience with a continued safety record second to none on each and every flight.
  • Serve as the face of NetJets, delivering technically accurate and safe transportation alongside an exceptional service experience for all NetJets Owners and passengers.
  • Effectively manage multiple roles, including professional aviator and in-flight service provider, to deliver a concierge-level service experience.
  • Maintain full command of the aircraft at all times and consistently uphold a professional demeanor.
  • Deliver in-flight services as required, including the handling of alcohol and the service of catering.
  • Load and properly stow all baggage on the aircraft.
  • Handle and conduct flights for Owners with pets and those who smoke.
  • Act as the final authority on the aircraft, overseeing all areas of operation and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Liaise between Owners/passengers and NetJets from their arrival at the FBO until they have safely landed and departed the final FBO.
  • Communicate any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company via the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller on duty.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on specific assignments.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Certifications and Licenses

  • Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
  • First Class Medical Certificate

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs)

  • FAA ATP, Restricted ATP, or meet the requirements for FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with multi-engine rating:
    • At least 21 years of age
    • 1,500 hours total flight time experience, or
    • 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or
    • 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or
    • 1,000 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate
    • 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time
    • 250 hours fixed-wing PIC
    • 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings
    • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excludes simulator time)
    • ATP written completed prior to start of Indoctrination Training
    • 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time
    • Current FAA First-Class Medical certificate
    • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit
    • Valid passport
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction
  • Ability to work varying hours, including day and night; weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adjust to rapid changes.
  • Capability to manage personal rest to ensure readiness for flight duty at all times.
  • Willingness to work duty periods that may last up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days, potentially spanning different time zones and experiencing extreme weather differences.
  • Ability to be away from home for seven or more consecutive days and nights, staying in hotels.
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
  • Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration required background screening.
  • Possession of a valid United States passport and ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
  • Strong service orientation with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression and interact effectively with passengers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure.
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions with close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
  • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Willingness and ability to work around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
  • Willingness and ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $86,015 - $117,706
