Purpose of Position

The First Officer Pilot is integral to delivering a superior air transportation experience, maintaining an exemplary safety record on every flight. As the representative of NetJets, the Pilot provides not only technically proficient and secure air travel but also an exceptional service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger. This role requires a versatile approach, encompassing the duties of a professional aviator and an in-flight service provider to ensure a concierge-level experience. The Pilot is at all times in command of the aircraft and is expected to maintain the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Ensures the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, takeoff, and landing in accordance with FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
  • Greets Owners/passengers pre-flight, provides introductions, briefs them on flight details, verifies itinerary, and offers weather updates and safety briefings, communicating any itinerary changes.
  • Provides in-flight service as required, including the handling and serving of catering and alcoholic beverages.
  • Loads and properly stows all baggage on the aircraft as necessary.
  • Manages and conducts flights for Owners accompanied by pets and for those who smoke.
  • Acts as the ultimate authority for the aircraft concerning all operational aspects, including adherence to all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from the FBO arrival until safe disembarkation at the final destination.
  • Communicates any aircraft maintenance issues or discrepancies to the Company via the assigned Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller.
  • Completes all required documentation pertaining to aircraft maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on specific operational needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.
  • Current First Class Medical Certificate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):

  • Possesses an FAA ATP, Restricted ATP, or meets the eligibility requirements for an FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating, adhering to FAA regulations (IAW 61.160).
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • 1,500 hours of total flight time, or equivalent combinations such as 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
  • 200 hours of cross-country flight time (>50 nautical miles).
  • 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
  • 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings.
  • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
  • Completion of the ATP written examination prior to the commencement of Indoctrination Training.
  • 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine flight time.
  • Current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
  • Valid passport.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and travel internationally without restriction.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated extreme flexibility and the ability to adapt to rapid changes.
  • Capability to manage personal rest schedules to ensure flight duty preparedness at all times.
  • Willingness to work duty periods up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days, potentially across different time zones and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to be away from home for seven or more consecutive days and nights, residing in hotels.
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
  • Successful completion of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
  • Must possess a valid United States passport and be able to travel internationally without restrictions.
  • Must possess a valid State driver's license.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the language.
  • Strong service orientation with a neat, professional appearance and the proven ability to make a positive impression and interact effectively with passengers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to make timely and accurate decisions while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, both technically and in passenger service.
  • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Comfort working around animals, including their handling and care during Owner flights.
  • Willingness and ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $86,015 - $117,706
