Purpose of Position
NetJets Aviation, Inc. is seeking highly skilled and professional individuals to serve as First Officers, delivering an exceptional air transportation experience with an unblemished safety record on every flight. The First Officer serves as a crucial ambassador for NetJets, providing not only expert, technically proficient, and safe air travel but also an extraordinary service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger. This demanding yet rewarding role requires a versatile professional capable of providing a concierge-level service, encompassing responsibilities from master aviator to in-flight service provider. The First Officer maintains full command of the aircraft at all times, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and decorum.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft during all phases of flight, from taxi to take-off and landing, in strict adherence to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) Checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Warmly greeting Owners/passengers pre-flight, conducting introductions, providing comprehensive flight/trip briefings, verifying itineraries, delivering timely weather updates, conducting essential safety briefings, and explaining any itinerary adjustments.
- Proficiently delivering in-flight service as required, including the responsible handling of alcoholic beverages and catering provisions.
- Diligently loading and securely stowing all baggage onboard the aircraft.
- Comfortably and professionally accommodating flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who may smoke.
- Exercising ultimate authority over the assigned aircraft concerning all operational aspects, including unwavering compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
- Serving as a primary liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets, from their arrival at the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) until their safe disembarkation at the final destination FBO.
- Accurately communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company's Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller for their specific fleet.
- Completing all associated paperwork for maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies with precision.
- Performing other duties as assigned, commensurate with the operational demands of the position.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications & Licenses
- Possession of a written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- A current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- A valid FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- A valid passport enabling international travel without restriction.
- A valid State driver's license.
Flight Time Requirements (IAW 61.160)
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- 1,500 hours total flight time experience; OR 1,250 hours with an appropriate university Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate; OR 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; OR 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
- 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- Completion of the ATP written examination prior to the commencement of Indoctrination Training.
- 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
- Ability to work highly variable hours, including day and night shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating extreme flexibility and adaptability to rapid changes.
- Proficiency in managing personal rest to ensure readiness for flight duty at all times during assigned tours.
- Preparedness for duty periods extending up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days, potentially spanning different time zones and extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to be away from home for seven or more consecutive days and nights while on duty, staying in hotels.
- Capability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, including successful completion of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screenings.
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
- Service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance, capable of making a positive impression and effectively interacting with passengers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
- Physical capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Comfortable working around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Salary Range
The base salary range for this position is $86,015 - $117,706 annually.
