Job Summary: First Officer - West Region
NetJets Aviation, Inc. is seeking highly qualified and service-oriented individuals for the position of First Officer, operating within its West Region flight operations. The First Officer plays a critical role in delivering a superior air transportation experience, upholding NetJets' second-to-none safety record on every flight. This position represents the public face of NetJets, demanding not only technical precision and safe aircraft operation but also an exceptional, concierge-level service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger.
First Officers are expected to embody the highest standards of a professional aviator while seamlessly providing attentive in-flight service. They operate as an integral part of the flight crew, exercising full command of the aircraft under the Captain's supervision and maintaining a consistently professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
The First Officer's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensuring the safe and compliant operation of the aircraft during all phases of flight—taxi, take-off, and landing—in strict accordance with FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) Checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Serving as a primary liaison for Owners and passengers, facilitating their experience from arrival at the Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) through to their safe departure from the final FBO.
- Conducting pre-flight greetings and introductions, delivering comprehensive briefings on the specific flight or trip, verifying itineraries, providing timely weather updates, conducting essential safety briefings, and clearly explaining any itinerary changes.
- Executing attentive in-flight service, including the professional handling of alcoholic beverages and the meticulous service of catering.
- Properly loading and stowing all baggage on the aircraft as required, ensuring safety and accessibility.
- Proficiently managing and conducting flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke, adhering to all established protocols and comfort standards.
- Communicating any aircraft maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies promptly and accurately to the Company's Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller assigned to their specific fleet.
- Diligently completing all necessary paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Performing other duties as assigned, adapting to the dynamic and evolving demands inherent in private aviation operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Prospective candidates must satisfy the following essential requirements:
- Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Holds a Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Possesses a current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Holds an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Must have a valid passport, enabling unrestricted international travel.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction.
- Possesses a valid State Driver's License.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- The ATP written examination must be completed prior to the commencement of Indoctrination Training.
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, which includes successfully passing Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
Mandatory Flight Time Requirements (in accordance with 14 CFR Part 61.160)
While specific "years of experience" are not strictly defined, candidates must meet the following flight hour criteria:
- 1,500 hours of total flight time experience; OR
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate; OR
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; OR
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time (>50 nm).
- 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with a minimum of 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine time.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This demanding role requires significant flexibility, resilience, and physical capability:
- Ability to work highly variable hours, including day and night shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Duty periods may extend for up to fourteen hours per day for as many as eight consecutive days, frequently involving travel across multiple time zones and exposure to extreme weather conditions within a single trip.
- Required to be away from home for seven or more days and nights at a time, necessitating hotel stays.
- Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects, such as baggage.
- Willingness and ability to work around animals, including their handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
- Comfort and ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
