Role Summary and Purpose of Position
The Pilot is entrusted with upholding the impeccable safety record of NetJets while serving as the organization's primary representative. This critical role demands technical mastery of aircraft operation combined with the delivery of an exceptional, owner-focused service experience on every flight. The Pilot acts as the final authority on their aircraft regarding all operational areas and is required to comply strictly with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
Essential Pilot Duties and Operational Requirements
The Pilot maintains responsibility for both the technical operation of the aircraft and the fulfillment of superior customer service expectations. Key duties include:
- Ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft during all phases of flight, including taxi, take-off, and landing, adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) Checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Acting as the primary liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from the time of arrival at the Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) until safe departure from the final destination FBO.
- Greeting Owners and passengers pre-flight, conducting introductions, providing specific flight and safety briefings, verifying itineraries, and communicating necessary weather updates or itinerary changes.
- Delivering professional in-flight service as needed, including the careful handling of alcohol and the service of catering.
- Loading and properly stowing all Owner baggage on the aircraft.
- Conducting flights for Owners who travel with pets and accommodating Owners who smoke.
- Promptly and accurately communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the NetJets Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller and completing all associated paperwork.
- Other duties may be assigned depending upon the specific operational assignment.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of adaptability, collaboration, service-orientation, and a consistent drive for positive results.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications and Licenses: Must possess a current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate, FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit, and a valid passport enabling international travel without restriction.
- Pilot Certification: Must possess a written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification or meet the requirements for an ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating, as follows (in accordance with 14 CFR § 61.160):
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours; or 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate; or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; or 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
- 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying (or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings).
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excludes simulator time).
- ATP written examination must be completed prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
- Specific Flight Experience: 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAOs)
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel internationally without restriction is mandatory.
- Availability to work varying hours, including day and night duty, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must demonstrate extreme flexibility and the ability to adjust swiftly to rapid operational changes.
- Must be proficient in managing personal rest to ensure readiness for flight duty at all times during the assigned tour, which may last up to eight days and span multiple time zones and extreme weather conditions.
- Capability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges by passing all necessary Transportation Security Administration background screenings.
- Must possess a valid State driver's license.
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
- Demonstrated service-orientation with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a proven capability to effectively and positively interact with passengers.
- Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, especially critical when operating under pressure.
- Must demonstrate the ability to make quick, accurate, and detail-oriented decisions, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
- Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Willingness to conduct flights for Owners who travel with pets and Owners who smoke.
Base Salary Range
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,283 to $89,335, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
