Position Overview:
The Flight Procedures Developer, Technical Pilot is responsible for the development and implementation of specialized approach, departure, and landing procedures for the NetJets fleet. This critical role ensures safe and efficient navigation across diverse flight conditions. The position involves detailed analysis of terrain, obstructions, airspace, and aircraft/avionics capabilities to create precise flight paths and approaches tailored to specific airports or regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops Special Instrument Approach Procedures (SIAPs) in strict compliance with FAA, ICAO, and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Conducts thorough assessments and analyses of existing procedures to identify areas for improvement or opportunities for enhanced access.
- Collaborates closely with air traffic control, pilots, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback essential for procedure development.
- Provides expert technical support and comprehensive training to internal and external stakeholders regarding the utilization and implementation of Special Procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes pertaining to instrument flight procedures.
- Performs rigorous testing and validation of special procedures within FAA approved Level D flight simulators to verify flyability across each aircraft type, ensuring avionics accuracy, safety, and full compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required (Master's degree is preferred).
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is required.
- Professional certification or training in instrument procedure design standards (e.g., FAA TERPS, ICAO PANS-OPS) is required.
- Possesses 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with the NetJets aircraft fleet is highly desirable.
- Proficient in the use of design software and tools specific to flight path and approach procedure design.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of aviation regulations and standards.
- Possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Capable of effective collaboration with ATC personnel to develop mutually functional and suitable flight procedures.
- Experience working with FAA approved Level D flight simulators is required.
- Experience with flight inspection or flight validation processes is highly desirable.
- Fluent in fundamental navigation concepts, including PBN, RNAV, RNP, GNSS, SBAS, and VNAV.
- Exhibits strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
