Position Summary
As the First Pilot/Second-in-Command (SIC), you will assist the Captain in all aspects of a flight and ensure the safety and comfort of the passengers. You will be located at the Flight Operations Center at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, MO where you will work as part of a team consisting of other Pilots, Maintenance Personnel, Aircraft Schedulers, Office Managers, etc. Our vibrant culture challenges us to always think “What’s next?” or “What’s better?” So, if your full potential could be unleashed, what would you add to the mix?
Job Responsibilities

Plan trips by verifying departure times, itinerary, and determines, in conjunction with the PIC, any special requirements for the flight

Prepare for preflight by receiving a preflight briefing from the PIC regarding pertinent aspects of the upcoming flight

Performs the aircraft preflight inspections, paying particular attention to the desired fuel loading

Ensures the cabin is properly configured and stocked for flight

Computes and posts the Takeoff Data Card and prepares flight information publications

Assists the PIC with all normal functions including periodic updating of the en route destination and alternate weather conditions

Conducts a postflight inspection and assists the PIC with fueling, post flight and securing of the aircraft.

The First Pilot/SIC must be prepared to take over the duties of the PIC in the event the PIC is incapacitated

The First Pilot/SIC will be familiar with and follow all FARs, company policies and flight operations policies and procedures pertinent to his assigned duties

Participates in additional flight operations duties and projects as assigned by Director or Chief Pilot
Basic Qualifications:

Commercial Instrument Multi-Engine Rating required

Minimum of Second Class Medical Certificate required

Minimum of 1500+ hours total time (or military equivalent) as a pilot required

Detailed understanding of Part 91 or Part 135 operations required

Ability to travel internationally with a valid passport required
Preferred Qualifications:

An ATP rating preferred

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
-
Minimum of 250+ hours Jet time experience preferred.

Corporate or Charter aviation experience preferred
