The NAEW& C Force is a unique organization operating as a multi-national fully integrated Air Force, with responsibilites of a "Sending State" and "Force Provider". The E-3A Component Commander is responsible for maintaining the readiness of all elements of the NATO E-3A Component to support operational employment of the NATO E-3A Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft as directed by SACEUR through the Commander, Air command Ramstein.
The Operations Wing (OW) is responsible to the E-3A Component Commander for the generation of Combat Ready Air-Crews to conduct Airborne Battle Management within the NAEW&C F Concept of Operations and/or as directed. The Aircrew Training Squadron is responsible to the Operations Wing Commander for execution of academic, simulator and in-flight training for aircrew, including Basic Qualification (BQ), Combat Ready (CR), Upgrade/Instructor Training (UT/IT) and Spin-up scenarios. The Academics & Simulator Branch is responsible to the Aircrew Training Squadron Commander for the academic and simulator training leading up to the airborne training of all aircrew, including Basic Qualification (BQ), Combat Ready (CR) and Upgrade/Instructor Training (UT/IT). The Flight Deck Section is responsible for the academic and simulator training of Flight Deck personnel including Basic Qualification (BQ), Combat Ready (CR) and Upgrade/Instructor Training (UT/IT).
The incumbent is responsible for pilots instruction, to include academic and simulator training.

CONTRACT
Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations. Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of two years. The definite duration contract may be extended for another period of one year. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered.
SALARY
Salary value indicated in this vacancy notice is based on the new Single Salary Spine scale.
