About the Role

NV5 Geospatial is seeking a qualified Aircraft Captain to serve as Pilot in Command, responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This remote position, headquartered in Sheboygan, WI, requires extensive travel for line operations and pilot training/evaluation. The Aircraft Captain will ensure all flight operations adhere to regulations, company policies, and the Safety Management System, while actively promoting a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preflight and post-flight aircraft inspections, including cleaning.
• Perform mission planning, including aircraft performance calculations, weather interpretation, and coordination with ground support, air traffic control, and clients.
• Collaborate with the Sensor Operator for safe and efficient mission completion.
• Supervise vendor compliance for fueling and outsourced maintenance.
• Manage aircraft movement in and out of hangars.
• Report aircraft and project status.
• Coordinate with aircraft mechanics to schedule maintenance and ensure airworthiness.
• Verify FAA record compliance and track personal qualifications, currency, and medical status.
• Maintain required charts, publications, manuals, and avionics data.
• Comply with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in company onboarding, initial/recurrent aircraft training, internal pilot training, and required corporate/client training events.
• Undertake administrative duties including contributing to employment qualification procedures and maintaining high morale through effective communication and employee development initiatives.

Requirements

• FAA Single or Multi-engine Commercial Pilot License.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pilot in Command (PIC) of an aircraft operated under CFR 14 Part 91, 135, or 121.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 750 hours of total flight time.
• FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with associates and senior management.
• Ability to convey a positive and professional image.
• Capability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
• Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel 16 days on and 12 days off for line operations and/or training/evaluation.
• Willingness to drive an aircraft tug.
• Availability for early mornings and late evenings.
• Preparedness for outdoor flight operations and exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Travel may exceed 75%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI).
• 1+ year of experience as a certified flight instrument and/or multi-engine instructor.
• Aerial survey experience.
• Experience in King Air 200, Cessna Conquest II, or Cessna Caravan.
• Pressurized turbine aircraft experience.
• Multi-engine experience.
• Remote flying experience in Alaska or similar environments.
• Bachelor’s degree.
