NV5 Geospatial is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Aircraft Captain to serve as Pilot in Command for their operations. This remote position, headquartered in Sheboygan, WI, involves leading flight operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest safety standards. The role requires extensive travel, with a schedule of 16 days on and 12 days off, and potential travel exceeding 75%.

About the Role

The Aircraft Captain is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. Key responsibilities include mission planning and execution, crew leadership, operational risk management, and real-time decision-making. This role emphasizes promoting a strong safety culture within the organization and ensuring all flight operations adhere to applicable regulations, company policies, and the Safety Management System (SMS).

Responsibilities

• Perform preflight and post-flight aircraft inspections, including cleaning.
• Conduct mission planning, including aircraft performance calculations, weather interpretation, and coordination with ground support, air traffic control, and clients.
• Collaborate with the Sensor Operator for safe and efficient mission completion.
• Supervise vendor compliance for fueling and outsourced maintenance.
• Manage aircraft movement into and out of hangars.
• Report aircraft and project status.
• Communicate with aircraft mechanics to track and schedule maintenance, ensuring airworthiness.
• Verify FAA record compliance.
• Track personal qualifications, currency, and medical status.
• Maintain all required charts, publications, and manuals, and perform avionics downloads.
• Understand and comply with all ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in company onboarding, aircraft recurrent training, internal pilot training and evaluation, and mandated corporate training.
• Perform administrative duties related to employment qualifications, hiring, salary structure, performance appraisals, and departmental meetings.

Requirements

• FAA Single or Multi-engine Commercial Pilot License.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pilot in Command (PIC) of an aircraft operated under CFR 14 Part 91, 135, or 121.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 750 hours of total flight time.
• FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with associates and senior management.
• Ability to project a positive and professional image.
• Capacity to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel 16 days on and 12 days off for line operations, training, or evaluation.
• Ability to drive an aircraft tug.
• Availability for early mornings and late evenings.
• Exposure to various weather conditions during outside flight operations.
• Willingness to travel more than 75% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, and MEI).
• 1+ year of experience as a certified flight instrument and/or multiengine instructor.
• Aerial survey experience.
• Experience in King Air 200, Cessna Conquest II, or Cessna Caravan.
• Pressurized turbine aircraft experience.
• Multiengine experience.
• Remote flying experience in Alaska or similar environments.
• Bachelor’s degree.
