Position Overview
NUAIR is seeking to fill a full-time UAS Part 107 Senior Pilot position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe, operational execution of customer projects, with an unwavering commitment to safety as the paramount concern. This role extends to maintaining, evaluating, and enhancing NUAIR’s enterprise UAS Service Supplier (USS) system. Furthermore, the Senior Pilot will actively participate in the planning and execution of client projects, encompassing flight operations, program development consultation, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain operational flight proficiency across all required UAS platforms, including proficiency in both manual and automated flight operations.
- Qualify and serve as Mission Crew Commander, exercising sound aeronautical judgment during all sUAS operations and supervision of flight activities.
- Evaluate platform airworthiness, assess operational location viability, and conduct valid analyses of weather conditions for all assigned flight operations.
- Maintain, evaluate, and improve NUAIR’s enterprise UAS Service Supplier (USS) system.
- Sustain a high level of situational awareness and knowledge regarding the evolving UAS industry, reporting key industry trajectories to inform company awareness and business development strategies.
- Act as a key member of project delivery teams for consultative projects serving New York State agencies, public benefit corporations, and other public and commercial clients. This includes data collection and analysis, and consultation on process, procedures, and methodologies.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of company operations policies, safety processes, and incident reporting procedures.
- Provide logistical support to clients at various field locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

- A valid Part 107 small category UAS remote pilot certificate.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience operating sUAS in a commercial, government, or military capacity.
- Demonstrated experience operating sUAS Beyond Visual Line of Site (BVLOS).
- Experience operating within an enterprise UAS Service Supplier (USS) framework.
- Possession of a Part 91 Commercial or Private Pilot certificate with an Instrument Rating is a significant advantage.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.
