Agricultural Pilot
A reputable organization seeks a skilled and dedicated Agricultural Pilot to join its team. The Pilot will be responsible for operating airplanes or helicopters over farmlands at low altitudes to apply fertilizers, fungicides, or pesticides.
Responsibilities:
- Piloting aircraft over agricultural lands for crop dusting and spraying.
- Fueling aircraft, including connecting and disconnecting fuel hoses.
- Mixing chemicals according to load tickets and safety protocols.
- Loading aircraft with chemicals and fertilizers, utilizing appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
- Maintaining cleanliness of aircraft and equipment.
- Mowing airstrips to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Maintaining awareness of inventory and fuel levels.
- Blending and loading chemical mixes prior to each flight.
- Maintaining cleanliness in hanger/loadout areas.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) months of relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain a driver’s license within 30-90 days of hire.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow directions.
- Customer service oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in an outdoor setting, potentially in various weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to outdoor elements, moving equipment/mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and a risk of electrical shock. Safety is a top priority, and extensive safety measures are in place to minimize potential harm.
Compensation may increase with verifiable experience, and the employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits. Reliable and regular attendance, including very early mornings, is expected.
