Metro Aviation is seeking a Fixed-Wing Air Ambulance Relief Pilot - (PIC) (PC-12/BE200) to work as an integral part of the Metro team for our operations across the United States.

JOB OBJECTIVE

The Relief Pilot fills pilot shortages at various bases as assigned by the Regional Aviation Manager, or Director of Operations. Additional tasks, such as ferrying aircraft may be assigned. In addition to performing the duties below, the Regional Relief pilot will strive to uphold the highest level of customer service while maintaining the safest operations possible.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with single-engine and instrument airplane ratings
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate to be obtained upon completion of initial training (paid for by Metro)
  • FAA 2nd Class Medical (1st Class Medical for Turbojet PIC)

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (TURBO PROP)

  • Total Flight Time = 2,500 hours
  • Total Pilot-In-Command Airplane Time = 1,000
  • Cross Country Flight Time = 500 hours
  • Night Flight Time = 100 hours
  • Instrument Flight Time = 75 hours (50 in flight)
  • Time in Type = 50 hours

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Type rating(s) in similar aircraft
  • Air Medical Operations
  • International Operations
  • High performance, high altitude, and complex endorsements (or equal 121/135 training documentation)
  • Part 121/135 operations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking
  • Ability to conduct activities requiring a moderate to a rigorous amount of static pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting
  • Capable of lifting 40 pounds floor to bench height
  • Ability to hear and respond to routine aircraft noises
  • Maintain a "duty" weight (body weight + uniform/equipment helmet not included) if applicable per program
  • Ability to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit when requested
  • Require close and distant visual capability
  • Periodic hands to key ability (typing)

STATUS & SCHEDULE

  • Full Time
  • 180 work days/2,160 hours per year to include:
  • 15 shifts per month
  • 12 hour shifts
  • Workover available when necessary
  • Extensive travel required
