Metro Aviation is seeking a
Fixed Wing Chief Pilot
to work remote as an integral part of the Metro team.

JOB OBJECTIVE
The Fixed Wing Chief Pilot is a FAR Part 119 certificate management position and assists the Director of Operations in the development and implementation of training policies, procedures, qualifications, standards, and control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist the Director of Operations in the development of training policy, procedures, and standards.

Advise the Director of Operations regarding all training, operational, and compliance issues.

Maintains Part 135, Pilot-In-Command qualification in at least one company aircraft listed on the Operations Specifications.

Oversight of the development and deployment of the flight crew training programs to include coordination with the Assistant Chief Pilot.

Ensure all flight crew members maintain current flight, medical, and route qualifications as required by the FAA and Metro Aviation policy.

Facilitate Metro Aviation's electronic flight bag program for fixed wing aircraft.

Ensures all aircraft are equipped with the required documents and items of this manual and the FARs.

Ensure compliance with provisions of 49 CFR and Metro Aviation policy, in respect to the initial and recurrent training requirements of the MAI WILL NOT CARRY Hazardous Materials program.

Being qualified for the position through training, experience, and expertise in 14 CFR 121 or 135 operations.

Assist in pilot recruiting activities to include interview, employment, and assignment.

Manage all aspects of fixed wing training with contract vendors.

Manage all aspects of the TSA Twelve Five Standard Security Program.

Fixed Wing personnel responsibilities to include:
-
Supervision in the performance of their duties.
-
Conduct performance reviews.
-
*May delegate any function (by approval of the Director of Operations) but retains responsibility.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Expert knowledge and experience in 14 CFR 121 or 135 operations
-
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, General Operations Manual, Pilot Training Programs, Safety Programs, Maintenance Administration, and company manuals, etc.

Possess sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making
-
Ability to create an environment that demonstrates teamwork and professionalism with diverse personalities and professional backgrounds

Ability to maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships with internal and external customers
-
Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong initiative

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products

FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate

FAA 2nd Class Medical (1st Class Medical for Turbojet PIC)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Aviation or equivalent industry experience

Minimum of five (5) years as a pilot-in-command in Part 135 operations

Part 119 management

Part 135 Instructor or Check Airman
