Position Summary

MSM Pilots-In-Command (PICs) are commanders aboard MSM KC-135 tanker aircraft. At MSM we consider ourselves to be the “Best of the Best” in Mid-Air Refueling and expect nothing less from our applicants. We are always on time and professional.

Essential Functions Statements

• ATP Multi-Engine Land with B-707 and B-720 type ratings
• At least 100 hours in the KC-135
• Minimum total time of 1500 hours (includes sim and other time)
• Must possess at least a current FAA Flying Class 2 physical
• Availability to travel – expect minimum 7 days a month, twice a quarter
• Command a crew of 3 while responding to a variety of emergency and non-emergency scenarios.
• Current passport
• Preferred – US Air Force Instrument/Qualification checkride in the last year
• Preferred - KC-135R IP/EP in the last 51 months, Block 30 and MPRS experience
• Preferred – Current CFI certificate

Competency Statements

• Set a high standard for providing our customers with world-class air refueling.
• Conduct procedurally correct and expeditious pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections, checklists and documentation.
• Maintain Situational Awareness (SA) and use Crew Resource Management (CRM) throughout all phases of flight. Knowledgeable on use of Foreflight.
• Adhere to company Flight Operation Procedures (FOP’s), Ground Operation Procedures (GOP’s) and Safety Notices.
• Maintain all currencies, qualifications and advanced systems knowledge as related to the MSM KC-135 tanker fleet

Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Facility Location: Temecula, CA

Travel
Travel requirements are: 17 days a month

Required Education, Experience and Certificates
Education: High School Diploma
Experience:

• At least 100 hours in the KC-135
• ATP Multi-Engine Land with B-707 and B-720 type ratings
• Minimum total time of 1500 hours (includes sim and other time)
• Must possess at least a current FAA Flying Class 2 physical

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid Driver’s License
  Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.
  Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
