Aviation Safety Instructor
Role Purpose
The Aviation Safety Instructor is responsible for delivering comprehensive safety training to airline crew members. The primary focus involves conducting Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) courses and associated safety training programs. The incumbent ensures that crew members are proficient in emergency protocols, evacuation procedures, first aid, and the operation of safety equipment, while maintaining strict adherence to certifications mandated by aviation regulatory authorities, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
Key Accountabilities

Develop and conduct comprehensive training, including the preparation of teaching outlines, course notes, and practical training schedules for SEP-related curricula.

Ensure alignment with the strategic direction and annual plans for Airline Mandatory Training, maintaining full compliance with CAAM regulations for cabin safety-related training.

Manage training environments by preparing equipment rooms and materials, and coordinating practical drills tailored to specific course requirements.

Maintain high standards for training facilities by ensuring all equipment and rooms are returned in optimal condition and reporting any identified defects or discrepancies.

Facilitate field trips and practical training sessions, adapting delivery methods to meet evolving curriculum requirements.

Execute a systematic process for gathering and analyzing class evaluations and feedback to improve course relevance and quality.

Collaborate with the Cabin Safety Manager to support daily operations and assist the Head of Training with key Aircraft Mandatory Training (AMT) projects.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the SEP training program by reviewing and updating training manuals, materials, and examination papers in accordance with CAAM guidelines.

Demonstrate organizational excellence and teamwork by supporting fellow staff and fulfilling duties as assigned by the Crew Safety Training Manager or department management.

Maintain a high degree of professionalism and foster a collaborative environment with both colleagues and training participants.
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of an SPM qualification or equivalent.

Six years of uninterrupted, active in-flight experience as a cabin crew member, including two years of experience as a Cabin Crew In-Charge on aircraft operated by a multi-crew complement.

Proven fleet experience or successful completion of an approved type course for each aircraft type for which instructional privileges are sought.

Demonstrable knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and a thorough understanding of MCAR requirements.
