Aviation Ground Instructor - Theoretical Knowledge
Role Purpose
The Ground Instructor, also known as a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor, plays a vital role in equipping flight crew members with the essential theoretical knowledge and operational understanding required for safe and effective aircraft operation. This position involves the management and supervision of theoretical training courses and programs. These programs are meticulously designed to meet the rigorous training and licensing prerequisites for flight crew, instructors, and examiners, as stipulated by the relevant regulatory authority. All training activities strictly adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in Civil Aviation Authority Manual (CAAM) documentation and MAB Academy Manuals.
Key Accountabilities
- Conducts comprehensive theoretical knowledge training for flight crew members, ensuring full alignment with applicable regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
- Oversees the development and implementation of robust training programs designed to cover critical aviation topics.
- Develops and manages programs for the selection and professional training of examiners, ensuring they consistently meet both regulatory and company standards.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in aviation, contributing to the creation and continuous updating of theoretical knowledge training courses and instructional materials.
- Ensures that all training materials remain current, accurate, and highly relevant to prevailing industry developments and best practices.
- Cultivates strong, supportive relationships with trainees, providing particular attention and assistance to those encountering challenges in their training progress.
- Offers dedicated support and guidance to trainees, empowering them to overcome difficulties and achieve success in their aviation training journeys.
- Manages and meticulously observes the completion of all theoretical knowledge training forms and progress reports, ensuring strict adherence to both Company and Regulatory requirements.
- Establishes and maintains stringent quality assurance procedures to uphold the highest standards in the delivery of theoretical knowledge training.
- Conducts regular audits and evaluations of training programs to guarantee consistency, effectiveness, and full compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all aviation regulations and ensures that all training activities are conducted in strict adherence to these evolving regulations.
- Collaborates proactively with regulatory authorities to ensure ongoing compliance and facilitate necessary updates to training protocols.
- Continuously assesses and enhances training methodologies, operational procedures, and instructional materials to optimize the effectiveness of all training programs.
- Promotes a proactive culture of learning, continuous improvement, and innovation within the training team.
Qualifications & Working Experience
- Possession of a CAAM CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL License, OR
- A relevant Aviation Engineering Degree or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Completion of the HRDF Train the Trainer Course.
- Certification as a CAAM Ground Instructor.
- A minimum of 1 year of operational experience as a pilot in a commercial aviation environment, OR
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a CAAM-certified ground instructor.
Areas of Experience
- Extensive experience in the preparation of critical flight documents, navigation procedures, air traffic management systems, and flight planning systems.
- Solid foundational knowledge of aircraft systems and performance characteristics, specifically for the Boeing 737-800.
