Aircraft Commander / Captain
An established airline is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Commander / Captain to assume final authority for the safety and security of its aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo. This critical role demands exceptional leadership, unwavering adherence to stringent operational standards, and a comprehensive understanding of international aviation regulations.
Reports To
The Aircraft Commander / Captain reports directly to the Chief Pilot, Line Operations.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of the Aircraft Commander / Captain is to exercise ultimate authority regarding the safety and security of the aircraft, its crew, passengers, and cargo throughout all operational phases of flight.
Key Responsibilities
- Assumes full responsibility for the safety and security of the aircraft, its crew, passengers, and cargo from the moment the aircraft doors are closed for departure until engines are shut down upon arrival.
- Maintains final authority concerning the disposition of the aircraft while in command and ensures the maintenance of discipline among all persons on board.
- Ensures strict compliance with all operational procedures and checklists as stipulated in the company's Operations Manual and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Verifies that the aircraft's airworthiness and maintenance status consistently meet both operational and regulatory standards.
- Confirms that all operating crew members possess valid licenses, documents, and appropriate ratings prior to aircraft operation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holds a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with the appropriate aircraft type rating.
- Possesses a minimum of Level 4 English Language Proficiency certificate.
- Meets all flight hour requirements as detailed in the company's Operation Manual.
- Minimum age of 25 years.
Skills and Knowledge
- Successfully completed all required Command Course and Training programs.
- Attended a recognized Command Development and Leadership Course.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of company operational procedures and all applicable aviation regulatory requirements.
