Position Title: Instructor, Crew Safety
Reports To: Manager, Crew Safety Training
Role Purpose:
The Instructor, Crew Safety is responsible for delivering comprehensive safety training to airline crew members. This encompasses conducting Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) Courses and other safety-related training programs. The incumbent will ensure that crew members are proficient in emergency protocols, evacuation procedures, first aid, and the operation of safety equipment. A vital aspect of the role is maintaining certification from aviation regulatory authorities, such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training courses, meticulously crafting teaching outlines, course notes, and practical training schedules tailored to SEP courses.
- Align with the strategic direction and annual plan of Airline Mandatory Training, providing steadfast support to ensure adherence to CAAM regulations for cabin safety-related training.
- Oversee and lead training sessions, including the preparation of the Training Equipment room and materials, and coordinating practical drills relevant to the course.
- Maintain the highest standards by ensuring that training equipment and rooms are returned in optimal condition, promptly reporting any discrepancies or defects identified in the classroom setup.
- Facilitate field trips and practical training sessions integral to the overall training curriculum, adapting as needed to meet evolving requirements.
- Implement a systematic approach to gather and act upon class evaluations and customer feedback forms, ensuring their relevance and applicability to the specific course type.
- Collaborate with the Cabin Safety Manager to support day-to-day operations, while also assisting the Head of Training in key projects related to Aircraft Mandatory Training (AMT).
- Play a pivotal role in the continuous improvement of the SEP Training program by actively reviewing and contributing to updates in training materials, manuals, and examination papers as per CAAM's approved guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills by effectively engaging in teamwork with fellow staff members, and willingly undertake any reasonable duties assigned by the Crew Safety Training Manager or other departmental management personnel.
- Foster a culture of professionalism and collaboration by maintaining positive conduct with both team members and fellow participants throughout various training activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Possess SPM or equivalent or higher academic qualifications.
- Six (6) years of uninterrupted and active in-flight experience as a cabin crew member, including two (2) years of experience as a cabin crew in-charge in an aircraft operated by more than one crew member.
- Fleet experience or successful completion of an approved type course for each aircraft type for which the instructional privilege is sought.
- Adequate knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and understanding of MCAR requirements.
