Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Flight Operations and Logistics, the Flight Operations Advisor holds a pivotal role within the Client Services Department. This operations-focused position is primarily responsible for the execution of day-to-day flight operations on behalf of Magellan Jets, consistently upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Flight Operations Advisor, this individual will proactively ensure the flawless execution of all flight missions. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting proactive feasibility checks for all trip requests (Charter, Jet Card, and Membership), encompassing aircraft performance, airport/runway restrictions, real-time weather conditions, NOTAMs, and customs/international requirements.
• Reviewing and meticulously managing itinerary changes to ensure paramount mission safety and operational compliance.
• Performing thorough safety background checks on Flight Crews and aircraft prior to all trip departures.
• Leading consistent communication with aircraft operators and diligently overseeing active trip flight-following.
• Proactively identifying and adeptly resolving flight deviations through collaborative efforts with Aircraft Sourcing, Client Experience, and external operators.
• Providing essential operational and regulatory guidance to the Client Experience team and other internal departments.
• Supporting training seminars and presenting insightful operational analyses as required.
• Representing Flight Operations during daily stand-ups and company-wide meetings, articulating key operational insights.

Qualifications

Knowledge

• Aviation operations background, with dispatch, flight operations, or pilot experience highly preferred.
• Profound understanding of aircraft performance, FAA regulations, the impact of weather on flights, and NOTAMs.
• Familiarity with customs and international operational requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position is primarily office-based in Quincy, MA, with the flexibility for one remote/work-from-home day each week. The role operates within a general office environment characterized by moderate noise levels and requires some weekend and evening hours (a standard 5-day work week, including one remote weekend day). Physical demands include extended periods of sitting at a desk or workstation, occasional walking between work areas, repetitive hand and wrist movements due to frequent typing and mouse use, light lifting of office supplies or documents (up to 20 lbs), and prolonged use of a computer screen.

Travel

Limited travel may be required, potentially including occasional overnight trips for industry conferences, client meetings, or operational oversight at other locations.

Compensation

The total target compensation for this full-time exempt role will range between $65,000 and $75,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Compensation will be determined on an individualized basis, factoring in location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Cash compensation represents a portion of the total compensation package, which may also include other Magellan Jets-sponsored benefits.
