Who are we hiring?

The First Officer is responsible for the safe conduct of flights as assigned serving as the Second in Command on MSG Aviation controlled fixed-wing aircraft. S/He ensures compliance with all Federal, state, local and foreign regulations by the flight crew and aircraft. S/He acts in accordance with all policies and procedures as specified in the MSG Aviation Flight Operations Manual (FOM). As one of the most visible department representatives of MSG Aviation to the client/passengers, the First Officer consistently acts with tact and decorum while ensuring an efficient and safe operation.

What will you do?

  • Works within MSG Aviation to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer
  • Acts as Second in Command (SIC) of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled.
  • Earns the complete respect and trust of every passenger and flight department member in the operation of the Recognized as a technical expert on the assigned aircraft.
  • Studies weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points,and is ready to provide input to insure a safe trip.
  • The First Officer is considered an integral part of the team and must be willing to speak up on safety-related issues.
  • Meets schedules and other directives governing the aircraft's operation consistent with applicable government regulations and MSG Aviation’s flight standards as documented in the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
  • Prepares the aircraft for flight (pre-flight) and assists the Captain and Flight Attendant as required.
  • Reviews weather, Notams, and fuel requirements when scheduled on a trip.
  • Complies with all SOPs including the diligent use of aircraft checklists.
  • Maintains the highest levels of personal integrity, honesty and professionlism.
  • Is committed to continuous personal growth and professional development.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

  • Reports to Chief Pilot

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

  • Requires extensive travel
  • Must be able to lift baggage
  • Must have valid drivers license and passport
  • Must be willing to relocate to Long Island, NY

What do you need to succeed?

  • Pilot shall have a solid background in business aviation operations.
  • Should possess a strong technical background, interpersonal skills, strong leadership qualities, English proficient, and able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • The minimum flight time requirements are 2500 hours total time, 1000 hours turbine time, 1000 hours Pilot in Command.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation or equivalent discipline is preferred.
  • Previous experience operating in 14 CFR Part 91 or 135 environments required, with a thorough understanding of 14 CFR Part 91 and ICAO Standards.
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of an excellent working relationship with the FAA.
  • Must hold valid FAA Class I medical.
  • GV and or CL300 Type Rating is very helpful, but not a requirement.
