The Airline Captain serves as the ultimate authority and responsible individual for the safety, security, and operational integrity of the aircraft, its crew, passengers, and cargo. This pivotal leadership position demands unwavering commitment to compliance with all aviation regulations and company operational standards, ensuring secure and efficient flight execution from departure until arrival.
Key Responsibilities
- Exercises absolute command and final authority over the aircraft, its crew, passengers, and cargo, ensuring their paramount safety and security throughout the flight, specifically from aircraft door closure for departure until engines are shut down upon arrival.
- Maintains ultimate discretion over the aircraft's disposition while in command and upholds stringent discipline among all individuals on board.
- Ensures strict adherence to all operational procedures and checklists outlined in the company’s Operations Manual and all pertinent regulatory requirements.
- Verifies the aircraft's airworthiness and maintenance status, confirming full compliance with operational and regulatory prerequisites before each flight.
- Confirms that all assigned operating crew members possess valid licenses, essential documentation, and appropriate ratings necessary for the intended aircraft operation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with the requisite type ratings.
- Achieved a minimum English Language Proficiency (ELP) certificate of Level 4.
- Fulfillment of all flight hour requirements as detailed within the company's Operations Manual.
- Aged 25 years or older.
- Successful completion of all mandatory Command Course and associated Training programs.
- Attendance and completion of relevant Command Development and Leadership Courses.
- Demonstrated comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of all company operational procedures and prevailing aviation regulatory frameworks.
