About the Role

Air Japan is actively seeking skilled pilots to join its esteemed team. The airline operates a fleet of B767 aircraft, servicing key routes throughout Asia, including destinations such as China, Seoul, Bangkok, Singapore, and Honolulu. Future network expansion is planned, offering significant opportunities for growth.

These contracts are offered on a 5-year term, with an operating base established at Narita, Japan. A highly attractive commuting package is provided, ensuring a commendable work-life balance.

Compensation and Benefits

Pilots enjoy a structured work schedule, with 10 days off per month, including a minimum of 8 consecutive days. To support commuting to Tokyo, Air Japan offers a monthly allowance of $2,000 USD. Additionally, pilots benefit from staff travel privileges on Star Alliance partner airlines.

A significant advantage for First Officers is the potential for promotion to Captain within Air Japan, a rare opportunity in the contract airline sector.

  • B767 type rating provided and funded by Air Japan, with no bond payable.
  • Up to 14 days off per month.
  • A contract completion bonus of $18,000 is awarded after 5 years of service.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 3,000 hours of Total Flight Experience.
  2. 500 hours of Commercial Jet Experience.
  3. Military flight experience is acceptable.
  4. Pilot-in-Command (PIC) experience requirements:
    • A minimum of 250+ hours as PIC, or
    • A minimum of 70+ hours as PIC and 180+ hours as PIC Under Supervision (PICUS), or
    • A minimum of 500+ hours as PICUS.
  5. 100 hours of PIC Cross Country flight time.
  6. 200 hours of Cross Country flight time.
  7. 100 hours of Night Flight experience.
  8. 75 hours of Instrument Flight time.
  9. A valid ICAO ATPL (Note: Frozen ATPLs are not accepted).
  10. A valid ICAO Jet Aircraft Type Rating (Note: SIC/Co-Pilot Jet Ratings are not accepted).
  11. A valid ICAO Command Instrument Rating.
  12. A valid ICAO Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  13. ICAO Level 4 English proficiency or higher.
  14. Possession of a Radio Operators Certificate for more than 2 years.

  1. Completed Application Form.
  2. Letter of Appointment.
  3. Fully completed Aeronautical Experience form.
  4. Scanned copies of essential personal documents, including:
    • ATPL License.
    • Medical Certificate.
    • Photo Identification page of Passport.
    • The last six left and right pages of the flight logbook (total of 12 scanned pages).
    • A Letter of Verification of hours from the current employer or relevant authority.
