Position Overview
Lone Star College (LSC) is seeking a dedicated and professional Faculty member for the Professional Pilot program. This full-time, regular position is responsible for facilitating student learning, fostering an environment of academic excellence, and upholding the college’s mission. Essential Job Functions

Teach assigned pilot training courses and labs at varying times and locations.

Review and utilize innovative instructional methodologies to enhance learning quality.

Develop and maintain course syllabi in accordance with departmental guidelines.

Ensure all activities strictly adhere to FAA, AABI, and institutional safety standards.

Design and implement diverse teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.

Evaluate student progress, provide timely feedback, and submit required institutional reports.

Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader community.

Provide student access through consistent office hours and electronic communication.

Engage in professional development and institutional service in collaboration with the Dean.
Required Qualifications
-
Associate degree or higher in any field.
-
Current FAA certifications: Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) OR Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) and Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI).

Minimum of 3 years of non-teaching industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Aviation or a related field.

Current Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.

Experience as a Chief or Assistant Chief Flight Instructor.

4+ years of experience as an aviation instructor or commercial pilot.

Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Desire2Learn or Blackboard.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position is a 12-month contract primarily focused on weekday operations, though it may include some evening or weekend requirements. The role is sedentary, performed in a climate-controlled office environment, with occasional requirements for walking, bending, or carrying light items up to 10 pounds.
