C-130J Pilot Subject Matter Expert

Lockheed Martin seeks a dynamic and results-oriented C-130J Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join its team.

Role Overview

The C-130J Pilot SME plays a pivotal role in the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for C-130J aircrew. The successful candidate will collaborate with instructors, Instructional Systems Design (ISD) personnel, and training staff to implement effective training solutions. This is a full-time, remote position operating on a non-standard 40-hour work week schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, maintain, and review curriculum, course materials, objectives, and syllabi for new and existing courses.
• Provide expert instruction to company personnel on C-130J operations, courseware, and Instructor Operating Station (IOS) operations.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of C-130J aircraft systems, normal and emergency operating procedures, local area procedures, safety requirements, and courseware standards.
• Design and instruct simulator profiles, including briefings, mission management, and debriefings.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and critique student performance, identifying learning difficulties and providing remedial instruction.
• Deliver and evaluate instrument, qualification, and mission training to initial and requalification students.
• Provide currency and refresher training for qualified C-130J crewmembers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of flying experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of military flying experience.
• At least 200 hours of experience as a flight instructor in the C-130J aircraft.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills

• Prior experience with flight simulators.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional organizations.
