C-130J Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME)

We are currently seeking a dynamic C-130J Pilot Subject Matter Expert to join our team and contribute to the development of world-class training programs.

Role Overview

The C-130J Pilot SME plays a critical role in the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for C-130J aircrew. Working alongside instructors, Instructional Systems Design (ISD) personnel, and fellow experts, the incumbent will develop and implement highly effective training solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and maintain curriculum, course materials, objectives, and syllabi for new and existing courses.
  • Provide expert instruction on C-130J operations, courseware, and Instructor Operating Station (IOS) operations.
  • Maintain and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of C-130J aircraft systems, including normal, emergency, and local area procedures.
  • Design and instruct simulator profiles, including briefings, mission management, and debriefings.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and critique student performance, identifying learning gaps and prescribing remedial instruction.
  • Deliver instrument, qualification, and mission training to initial and requalification students.
  • Provide currency and refresher training for qualified C-130J crewmembers.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a closely related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of flying experience, including at least five (5) years of military flying experience with a minimum of 200 hours as a flight instructor in the C-130J MDS.
  • Citizenship/Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Desired Skills

  • Prior experience with flight simulators.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional organizations.

Working Environment and Benefits

This is a full-time, remote telework position. Employees may be required to travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings. The role operates on a non-standard 40-hour work week as assigned by leadership.
