Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pilot Trainer Developer to join its dynamic team in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is pivotal in the development of comprehensive training requirements and the implementation of engaging courseware designed to instruct Aircrew and Mission Planner functions. The position involves creating and utilizing simulations and scenarios essential for effective customer training on advanced aviation systems.

The Pilot Trainer Developer is responsible for crafting and delivering highly creative training courses for both existing and nascent systems. This includes providing all necessary training to customer personnel, often conducted at various domestic and international locations. The role requires providing expert Pilot and Combat Systems Operator support, which entails briefing and training test pilots, production pilots, and systems engineers on the capabilities and operational procedures of aircraft and ground systems. Collaboration is key, working closely with pilots, engineers, and simulation technicians to design, implement, evaluate, and document training materials and associated technical publications.

A successful candidate will possess significant experience in utilizing technology-based multimedia applications. This includes applying innovative concepts, methodologies, and technical skills, employing multiple media tools for the development of applicable courseware. The role requires familiarity with the latest research trends in graphic design, software development, and training development techniques. Experience implementing current instructional design trends into applicable training aids, such as flight simulators and various part task training devices, is also essential.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior military Instructor Pilot or Combat/Weapons Systems Operator experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, planning, and facilitating professional training programs.
  • Experience instructing personnel on mission planning, execution, debriefing processes, communications, and ground control element operations.
  • Must possess an Active Secret security clearance with a background investigation completed within the last five years to commence employment.
  • Must be a United States Citizen. This position is located at a facility requiring special access, necessitating US citizenship for consideration.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience as a Formal Training Unit, Weapons School instructor, or in an Operational Test environment.
  • Ability to translate a wide application of tactical aviation technical principles, theories, and concepts into effective training operations.
  • Understanding and application of aviation maintenance training and safety programs and policies.
  • Familiarity with nascent training technologies and applications.
  • Possession of a Top Secret security clearance.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time, onsite position based in Fort Worth, TX.
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required.
  • The standard work schedule for this position is a 4x10 hour day, providing employees with a 3-day weekend.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance per business requirements is necessary for continued employment.
