Overview

Summary:

Lewis Aeronautical is a Part 91, on-demand flight operation, supporting business as well as personal travel for a San Antonio-based Energy Company. Flights will be conducted on a fleet of modern aircraft throughout the U.S. as well as International destinations.

The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of confidentiality, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment, team player and ability to maintain flexibility with a varying schedule.

This position requires collaboration with scheduling and other personnel to successfully plan and complete missions. Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate to the San Antonio metro area.

Our flight department is a fast-paced, challenging environment with an exciting mix of destinations and mission profiles.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as pilot-in-command or second-in-command, as assigned, on company aircraft during domestic and international flights, which includes responsibility for the total operation of the aircraft including safety, security, emergency actions, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensures maintenance of a thorough knowledge of domestic and international flight procedures with emphasis on safety.
  • Maintains the requirements for an FAA type rating as pilot-in-command on company aircraft by attending annual recurrent flight training, reviewing aircraft systems, and ensuring that all proficiency items required by federal and international regulations are current.
  • Prepares the airplane for flight by preparing flight plans, ensuring the airplane is properly inspected and cleaned, and provisions are on board to ensure the safety and comfort of the passengers.
  • Reviews and calculates the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board, and performance calculations to ensure safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Monitors and coordinates the crew performance to ensure efficient operation of the aircraft.
  • Makes decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights or deviate from a planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate.
  • Maintains current knowledge of FAA regulations and air traffic control procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years practical experience as a corporate pilot.
  • 4,000 flight hours in turbojet airplane.
  • 2,000 hours turbine PIC *may be waived based on overall experience.
  • Right to work in the U.S.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong reasoning and language skills.
  • Basic computer skills to include email, working with aviation related websites, basic MS Office usage.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • ATP Rating (Unrestricted)
  • First Class Medical
  • FCC Radio License
  • Valid Passport
