Commercial Pilot - Part-Time Position

Les Schwab is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Pilot to fill a part-time First Officer position based in Bend, OR. This role requires a dedicated individual to serve as second-in-command on company aircraft.

Position Summary:

The First Officer will act as second-in-command, contributing significantly to the safe and efficient operation of Company aircraft. The position demands a high level of proficiency in piloting, adherence to safety regulations, and excellent communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

Flight Operations (80%): The First Officer will perform all standard Second-in-Command duties, including pre-flight and post-flight aircraft preparations (exterior and interior cleaning, weight and balance management, ADS-B receiver operation), computation and communication of flight performance data, standard altitude callouts, precise radio communications, vigilant monitoring of flight operations and adherence to ATC instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. Fueling assistance will also be required.

Passenger Service (10%): The successful candidate will provide assistance and briefing to passengers throughout the boarding, flight, and de-boarding process.

Miscellaneous Duties and Training (10%): This role includes miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Flight Department Manager, alongside participation in mandatory training programs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 2,000 total flight hours is required, with 1,500 hours in fixed-wing aircraft and 500 hours in turbine aircraft.
• Licenses & Certifications: A valid and current US driver's license and US passport are mandatory. The successful candidate must hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot Rating, with Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings and a CE-560 XLS+ type rating.
• Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of FAR 61, FAR 91, the AIM, and proficient interpretation of airway and approach charts is essential.
• Skills: The candidate must exhibit exceptional piloting skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong ability to follow the Les Schwab Flight Operations Manual. Compliance with FAR 61.55 is crucial. Excellent customer service and communication skills are also required for effective interaction with passengers.
• Physical Requirements: The ability to pass a Class 1 FAA medical examination is required. Physical capabilities include climbing, lifting, carrying awkward items, entering and exiting the cockpit, and assisting passengers.
• Work Environment: The position involves some exposure to adverse weather conditions.
