Leidos is seeking a dynamic Senior Instructor to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team. This position supports the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) NISC team, providing outstanding customer service to FAA customers. The Senior Instructor will deliver technical instruction for new hire Electronics personnel, equipping them with the necessary skills for fiber optics projects within Engineering Services. This is a remote position, requiring travel to Lakeland, FL, or other locations as needed for class delivery.

The Senior Instructor will conduct in-person classroom instruction, incorporating lectures, demonstrations, laboratory exercises, handouts, and testing. This role includes facilitating both day and potentially evening courses. The incumbent will assist students in acquiring fundamental skills required for entry-level fiber optic cable installation and technician roles. This involves instruction in fiber optic technology, including different fiber types, splicing techniques, network design, safety protocols, and the use of specialized tools for connecting and activating fiber optic networks. The Senior Instructor will also teach electronic and fiber optic safety, covering PPE, cable handling, proper handling of chemicals, cleaners, and adhesives, adherence to industry standards, and methods to prevent injury and damage.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of working knowledge of FAA electrical and electronics systems. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering scheduling tools, along with the ability to use the internet effectively, is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to produce clear and concise technical writing and coordinate with project stakeholders. A basic understanding of various disciplines concerning typical FAA electrical and electronics systems is also necessary.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $101,400.00 to $183,300.00. The salary will be determined based on factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
