Simulator Instructor Operator - UH-60
Leidos, a leading provider of innovative solutions, is seeking a skilled and experienced Simulator Instructor Operator to join our Integrated Airborne Solutions (IAS) Division. This exciting opportunity supports the Army National Guard (ANG) Aviation Training Services and Operational Support (ATSOS) program at Hammond, LA.
About the Role:
As a Simulator Instructor Operator, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality flight training to AATS students and regional simulation users. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering simulated flight training: Provide comprehensive training in aircraft systems, emergency procedures, and instrument flight procedures.
- Developing and maintaining training scenarios: Create and update mission-specific training scenarios for regional users.
- Instructor and evaluator: Deliver instruction and evaluate student pilots based on approved training support packages.
- Conducting academic platform instruction: Facilitate courses in Instructor Operator, Instrument Flight Examiner, and AATS programs.
- Facilitating pre-mission planning and after-action reviews: Ensure effective planning and debriefing for all simulation periods.
- Maintaining training records: Accurately track and maintain training records for both formal courses and unit readiness level progression.
- Scheduling and coordination: Develop, manage, and update flight schedules, coordinate with maintenance contractors, and ensure efficient utilization of training resources.
- Reporting: Generate monthly utilization reports and verify contractor device performance reports.
- RFMSS Fire Desk Operator: Manage simulator training periods using the Army Range and Facility Scheduling System (RFMSS).
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma with 8 years of applicable experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience.
- Flight Simulation Expertise: Qualified as an Instructor Pilot in the respective aircraft simulator and an Instrument Flight Examiner, or have documented three years of experience as an Aviation Simulator I/O in the required aircraft device.
- Army Aviation Experience: Prior experience training or operating with Army Aviation (or Military Equivalent) is essential.
- Instructor Qualifications: USAACE/AATS qualified Instructor Pilot in the UH-60 airframe or have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an I/O in assigned device.
- Instructor Training: ITC or ABIC qualified, or successfully graduate from a AATS provided ABIC course within 12 months of starting work.
- Instructor Qualification Requirements: Must meet instructor qualification requirements as defined by the Aviation proponent and IAW TR 350-10, TR 350-70.
- Additional Qualifications: Qualified as a unit trainer, an instructor pilot, or a maintenance test flight examiner with demonstrated simulator operations experience. USAACE qualified Instrument Flight Examiner.
- Training Program Completion: Satisfactorily complete unit aircrew training program within 3 months of starting work if not an instructor pilot IAW AR95-1, 4-11e(2) and FR350-1.
- Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products.
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $61,750.00 - $111,625.00
