The Leidos Civil Group currently has an Aviaton English Instructor opening. The Aviation English Instructor will be part of a dynamic team working to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) program in its Oklahoma City location.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ The Aviation English Instructor will provide support to the FAA Academy’s International Division. Leidos provides non-native English language speakers with the ability to develop aviation language skills to comply with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements.
+ Duties include interacting with international students, both flight or air traffic, to promote language acquisition and phraseology via classroom discussion and group exercises.
+ Facilitate student learning in order for them to demonstrate mastery of the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Proficient in speaking, writing, and typing in the English language with the ability to understand, use, and instruct the vocabulary needed in the aviation industry.
+ Classroom instructor experience teaching English to non-native speakers with a focus on ESL methodology, and ICAO proficiency testing
+ Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
+ BS degree and 8 and 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 10 years of prior relevant experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Familiarity with ICAO Doc. 9835 and Aviation Language Proficiency requirements
+ Experience with FAA course design, and instructional techniques
+ Excellent customer service skills necessary to interact with internal, external, and international customers, as well as the ability to work in a cooperative environment.
+ Previous FAA experience instructing international students and helping them improve English proficiency for aviation operations
