About the Role:
The selected candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the skills and knowledge of future CH-47 pilots. Responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum of instructional activities, including:
- Comprehensive Simulator Operation: Expertly operate the CH-47F Transportable Flight Proficiency Simulator (TFPS), replicating realistic flight scenarios to train crew members on all tasks outlined in the aircraft training manual (ATM).
- Engaging and Effective Instruction: Deliver engaging and comprehensive instruction on base and mission tasks, encompassing ATM procedures, academic evaluation topics, instrument training, crew coordination, and collective operator training.
- Standardized Training and Evaluation: Adhere to strict standardization protocols and conduct check rides in accordance with the ATM, ensuring alignment with unit standard operating procedures, tactics, and standards.
- Meticulous Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of simulator usage, pilot training hours, and training assessments, adhering to established documentation standards.
- Proactive Scheduling and Resource Management: Utilize the Army range and facility scheduling system (RF-MSS) to effectively schedule simulator training periods and manage resource allocation.

Essential Requirements:
- High School Diploma with 8 years' relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree with 4 years' experience.
- Qualification as an Instructor Pilot in the CH-47 simulator or documented experience as an Aviation Simulator I/O.
- A minimum of three years of experience training or operating within Army Aviation or a military equivalent.
- USAACE / AATS qualified Instructor Pilot qualification in the CH-47 airframe or a minimum of 3 years I/O experience in the assigned device.
- Instructor Training Course (ITC) or ABIC qualification, with the ability to obtain ABIC qualification within 12 months if required.
- Meeting all instructor qualification requirements as defined by Aviation Proponent and in accordance with TR 350-10 and TR 350-70.
- Unit trainer, instructor pilot, or maintenance test flight examiner qualification with demonstrable simulator operation experience.
- USAACE qualified Instrument Flight Examiner.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products
- Previous experience as a CH-47 Instructor Pilot
- Familiarity with the ATSOS program
