The Opportunity: Aviation Training Captain & Simulator Instructor
Leidos is seeking highly skilled and mission-focused individuals to join its passionate team as Training Captains and Simulator Instructors. This is a unique opportunity to command and deliver flight crew training on highly modified Dash 8 aircraft equipped with advanced surveillance technology. Successful candidates will play a crucial role in the professional development of Dash 8 pilots, conducting training and checking activities in both aircraft and simulators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Command and deliver flight crew training on Dash 8 aircraft.
- Provide essential leadership and support to the flight crew.
- Conduct training and checking activities in aircraft and/or simulators.
- Ensure mission success through diligent, rapid, and professional execution of duties.
- Contribute to the professional development of Dash 8 pilots.
Flexible Work Options
- Training Captains: Cairns, Darwin, Broome, or 14-on/14-off FIFO from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney.
- Simulator Instructors: Melbourne or Brisbane.

What You Will Bring
- Australian Citizenship with a current Australian passport.
- Valid CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical certificate.
- Australian ATPL(A) (Airline Transport Pilot Licence - Aeroplane).
- Minimum 1000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) experience in multi-crew operations on type-rated aeroplanes.
- Australian Flight or Simulator Instructor Rating.
- For simulator roles: Type rating training activity endorsement on any multi-crew type-rated aircraft.
- Eligibility for an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC) and Australian government security clearances.
Remuneration and Benefits
- Training Captains: Commencing from $212,961 per annum.
- Simulator Instructors: Commencing from $250,503 per annum.
- Scheduled 6% increase in 2026 and 2% annual increments.
