Global 6000/6500 Flight Instructor
Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global 6000/6500 Flight Instructor to join its Defense Group team in El Paso, TX. This position supports the training and proficiency of the next generation of U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Aviators, requiring adherence to the highest standards of aviation skill, safety, professionalism, and customer focus.
Responsibilities:
- Provide ground and flight training to U.S. Army personnel.
- Conduct and document flight evaluations in accordance with the Leidos Global 6000/6500 Program of Instruction and/or US Army Global 6000/6500 Aircrew Training Manual (ATM).
- Manage and monitor all aircrew Crew Endurance status to ensure DCMA 8210.1D, AR 95-20, and 14 CFR Part 91 compliance.
- Assist the Senior Flight Instructor with the development, review, and implementation of the Program of Instruction / Syllabus in accordance with U.S. Army TRADOC requirements.
- Serve as a Point of Contact (POC) for site interaction with the Government Flight Representative (GFR) and other resident USG personnel.
- Act as a Contractor’s Requesting Official (CRO).
- Operate aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations, and program/corporate policies and procedures.
- Manage all aircraft movement requests, including coordination of Prior Permission Required (PPRs), Aircraft Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) requests, and Air Tasking Order (ATO) compliance.
- Liaise with U.S. Government Flight Operations Personnel and the GFR.
- Perform flight operations, duties, and responsibilities as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 17 – 22 years of prior relevant experience, or Master's degree with 15 – 20 years of prior relevant experience, or Doctorate with 13 – 16 years of prior relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
- Current passport and valid state driver’s license.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- Two (2) or more years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
- 1,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) total time.
- 500 hours PIC in a Global 6000/6500 aircraft or similar aircraft type.
- Ability to complete a BD-700 Global Vision Type Certification without restrictions.
- Hold at least a Commercial Airplane Multiengine, Instructor Pilot (CFI/MEI) and Instrument Airplane Airman Certificate.
- FCC Radio Telephone Operator License.
- U.S. military aviation experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CFI / CFII / MEI certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BD-700 (6000/6500 series) FAA type rating.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- CFI / CFII / MEI certification.
- International experience operating in the North Atlantic Tracks High Level Airspace (NAT HLA).
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- 2,000 hours of PIC time.
- 1,500 hours of Multiengine time.
- 300 hours of Instrument (actual) time.
- Instructor Pilot ratings held for the last three (3) consecutive years.
- Former U.S. Military Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner.
- U.S. Army Instructor Pilot, Instrument Flight Examiner.
