Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Global 6000/6500 Flight Instructor to join its Defense Group in El Paso, TX. This individual will play a crucial role in training and ensuring the proficiency of the next generation of U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Aviators, upholding the highest standards of aviation expertise, safety, professionalism, and customer service. The Flight Instructor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive ground and flight training to U.S. Army personnel, and for conducting and documenting flight evaluations in accordance with the Leidos Global 6000/6500 Program of Instruction and/or the U.S. Army Global 6000/6500 Aircrew Training Manual.
Key responsibilities include managing and monitoring aircrew crew endurance status, assisting in the development and implementation of the Program of Instruction/Syllabus, serving as a point of contact for site interactions with government personnel, and acting as a Contractor's Requesting Official. The Flight Instructor will also ensure aircraft operations are compliant with regulations and company policies, manage aircraft movement requests, and liaise with U.S. Government Flight Operations Personnel. This role requires adherence to flight operations duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 12-15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of relevant experience. U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance are mandatory, along with a current passport, valid state driver’s license, and an FAA Class II Medical Certificate. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience supervising or leading teams/projects. The position requires 1,500 hours of Pilot-in-Command total time, including 500 hours in a Global 6000/6500 or similar aircraft type. The successful candidate must be able to complete a BD-700 Global Vision Type Certification without restrictions, and hold at least a Commercial Airplane Multiengine, Instructor Pilot (CFI/MEI), and Instrument Airplane Airman Certificate, along with an FCC Radio Telephone Operator License and U.S. military aviation experience. The ability to obtain and maintain CFI/CFII/MEI certifications is also required.
Preferred qualifications include a BD-700 (6000/6500 series) FAA type rating, CFI/CFII/MEI certification, international operating experience in the NAT HLA, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, 2,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command time, 1,500 hours of multiengine time, 300 hours of actual instrument time, and holding ratings for the last three consecutive years. Preference will be given to former U.S. Military Instructor Pilots and Instrument Flight Examiners, particularly those with U.S. Army Instructor Pilot or Instrument Flight Examiner experience.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $126,100.00 - $227,950.00. The posting date is 2025-01-29, and the requisition is expected to remain open for at least three days.
