Global 6000/6500 Flight Instructor
Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global 6000/6500 Flight Instructor to join its Defense Group in El Paso, TX. This individual will play a critical role in the training and development of the next generation of U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Aviators, upholding the highest standards of aviator skill, safety, professionalism, and customer focus. The Flight Instructor will conduct both ground and flight training, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive ground and flight instruction to U.S. Army personnel.
- Conduct and meticulously document flight evaluations in accordance with the Leidos Global 6000/6500 Program of Instruction and/or the U.S. Army Global 6000/6500 Aircrew Training Manual (ATM).
- Manage and monitor aircrew Crew Endurance status, ensuring compliance with DCMA 8210.1D, AR 95-20, and 14 CFR Part 91 regulations.
- Collaborate with the Senior Flight Instructor in the development, review, and implementation of the Program of Instruction/Syllabus, adhering to U.S. Army TRADOC requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for site interactions with the Government Flight Representative (GFR) and other resident U.S. Government personnel.
- Act as a Contractor's Requesting Official (CRO).
- Operate aircraft with strict adherence to applicable regulations, program policies, and corporate procedures.
- Manage all aircraft movement requests, coordinating necessary Prior Permission Required (PPRs), Aircraft Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) requests, and Air Tasking Order (ATO) compliance.
- Liaison with U.S. Government Flight Operations Personnel and the GFR.
- Perform additional flight operations duties and responsibilities as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 17-22 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 15-20 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate with 13-16 years of relevant experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD SECRET level security clearance.
- Must possess a current passport and valid state driver’s license.
- Must hold a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
- Minimum 1,500 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) total flight time.
- Minimum 500 hours PIC in a Global 6000/6500 aircraft or similar type.
- Ability to obtain a BD-700 Global Vision Type Certification without restrictions.
- Must hold at least a Commercial Airplane Multiengine, Instructor Pilot (CFI/MEI) and Instrument Airplane Airman Certificate.
- Possess an FCC Radio Telephone Operator License.
- Must have U.S. military aviation experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CFI/CFII/MEI certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BD-700 (6000/6500 series) FAA type rating.
- CFI/CFII/MEI certification.
- International experience operating in the North Atlantic Track High Level Airspace (NAT HLA).
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.
- 2,000 hours of PIC time.
- 1,500 hours of Multiengine flight time.
- 300 hours of Instrument (actual) flight time.
- Rating held for the last three (3) consecutive years.
- Former U.S. Military Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner experience.
- U.S. Army Instructor Pilot, Instrument Flight Examiner experience.
Compensation:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $148,850.00 - $269,075.00. The final compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, job responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and alignment with market data.
