Global 6000/6500 Flight Instructor – El Paso, TX
Leidos, a leader in providing airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Flight Instructor to join our Defense Group in El Paso, Texas. This critical role will contribute directly to the training and proficiency development of the next generation of U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Aviators. The ideal candidate will embody the highest standards of aviation safety, professionalism, and customer focus.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive ground and flight training to U.S. Army personnel, adhering to the Leidos Global 6000/6500 Program of Instruction and/or the U.S. Army Global 6000/6500 Aircrew Training Manual (ATM).
- Conduct and meticulously document flight evaluations.
- Manage and monitor aircrew Crew Endurance status, ensuring strict compliance with DCMA 8210.1D, AR 95-20, and 14 CFR Part 91 regulations.
- Collaborate with the Senior Flight Instructor in the development, review, and implementation of the Program of Instruction/Syllabus, aligning with U.S. Army TRADOC requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for site interactions with the Government Flight Representative (GFR) and other government personnel.
- Function as the Contractor’s Requesting Official (CRO).
- Execute safe and efficient aircraft operations, adhering to all applicable regulations, program policies, and corporate procedures.
- Manage all aircraft movement requests, including coordination of Prior Permission Required (PPRs), Aircraft Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) requests, and Air Traffic Order (ATO) compliance.
- Maintain effective liaison with U.S. Government Flight Operations Personnel and the GFR.
- Perform additional flight operations duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, coupled with 12-15 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 10-13 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD SECRET level security clearance are mandatory.
- Current passport and valid state driver’s license.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
- 1,500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) total time.
- 500 hours PIC in a Global 6000/6500 aircraft or similar type.
- Ability to complete a BD-700 Global Vision Type Certification without restrictions.
- Current Commercial Airplane Multiengine, Instructor Pilot (CFI/MEI), and Instrument Airplane Airman Certificates.
- FCC Radio Telephone Operator License.
- Proven U.S. military aviation experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CFI/CFII/MEI certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BD-700 (6000/6500 series) FAA type rating.
- Current CFI/CFII/MEI certification.
- International experience operating within the North Atlantic High-Level Airspace (NAT HLA).
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- 2,000 hours PIC time.
- 1,500 hours multiengine time.
- 300 hours instrument (actual) time.
- Rating held for the last three (3) consecutive years.
- Prior experience as a U.S. Military Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner.
- U.S. Army Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner experience.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $122,200.00 - $220,900.00. The final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience and qualifications.
